A 2.9 magnitude earthquake that happened at 12:59 a.m. Wednesday was felt more than 500 miles away, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake's epicenter was in the Tri-Town area, about 15 miles southeast of Massena, USGS said.
Their website has a variety of people reporting they felt the vibration, with numerous responses from St. Lawrence County and some from as far away as Montreal and Binghamton. One report come from Mistissini, Quebec, more than 500 miles from the North Country.
