Dreary weather with drizzle and fog will continue this morning as a stationary front lingers across the St. Lawrence Valley, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Heavy, wet snow is expected for much of the region except for the lowest valleys, NWS says.
Rain or freezing rain is possible this morning, with highs today near 38, the service says. Rain and snow showers are expected tonight, with a couple inches of accumulation possible.
Conditions will trend cooler, with intermittent periods of showers as we head into mid week.
The extended forecast through next Saturday is as follows:
Monday
Snow likely before 7am, then snow showers likely after 7am. Cloudy, with a high near 35. West wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Monday Night
Snow showers likely, mainly before 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 26. West wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Tuesday
A 30 percent chance of snow showers before 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 30. West wind around 6 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

A chance of snow showers before 7pm, then a chance of snow showers after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 23. Light north wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
