LOUISVILLE –Several dozen children were hoping for some action as they fished along the shore of the St. Lawrence River at the Wilson Hill Causeway May 20.
About 50 young anglers participated in the 24th annual Ted Kot Kids Free Fishing Day for ages 15 and under.
Some of these anglers were excited to reel in bullhead. These keepers were proudly saved in their buckets.
Others caught bass, but had to be released due to bass season not starting until June 15.
Caleb McGee, age seven, was excited to catch his first fish, a bullhead keeper.
The event was hosted by the Massena Recreation Commission.
Free hot dogs and drinks were offered to all participants, along with goody bags and raffle prizes for those who had pre-registered.
