St. Lawrence County farms and businesses have until May 9 to apply for U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loans to compensate for weather-related losses last year.
The SBA is reminding small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses and private nonprofit organizations in St. Lawrence County that May 9 is the deadline to apply for a working capital disaster loan due to frost, freeze and excessive snow last year, from Jan. 1 through May 24, 2015.
The loans are available in several upstate counties, including St. Lawrence.
Completed loan applications must be returned to SBA no later than May 9, 2016.
Applications may be made online using at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.
Information and applications may be obtained by calling 800-659-2955 or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Loan applications can be downloaded from www.sba.gov/disaster.
