OGDENSBURG -- DeKalb Junction artist John Miller III has provided hand-painted paddles for first-place trophies at the Ogdensburg Parks & Recreation Department’s Sandbar Classic Fishing Derby.
Parks & Recreation Department employee Alex Farrell is pictured holding two of the paddles, which will be given to the anglers who catch the largest bass, walleye, northern pike and perch Sunday.
Registration will be held at the Dobisky Visitors’ Center and at Hosmer’s Marina.
The cost is $5 per species, but anglers have to register for at least two species. A youth division will also be held for bass and perch.
The first 90 entrants will receive a free T-shirt courtesy of Algonquin Power’s Heroes Program.
