Firefighters from Gouverneur responded to the fire around 3:33 a.m. and saw flames coming out of the roof upon arriving on scene, according to the department’s Facebook page.
The fire was held to the restaurant area and firefighters were able to save the attached laundromat, the post said.
“Unfortunately the restaurant was a total loss due to the fire burning unfounded for some time,” the department said.
A passerby reportedly called 911.
Crews were still on scene this morning help contain anymore damage from water to the building and assisting the fire investigation team.
