Dale Deshane, 80, Brasher Falls

BRASHER FALLS -- Dale Deshane, 80, peacefully passed away May 8, 2024. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop, NY.
Dale was born on June 28, 1943, in Brasher Falls, NY son of Frank and Esther (Gale) Deshane. He married Janet LaShomb in Brasher Falls, NY on September 12, 1964, with whom he shared a loving union of over 50 years and together they raised 2 daughters.
Dale worked as a young man on farms then for Lewis well drilling. He worked for a short time in Massachusetts at a factory. He moved back to Brasher Falls to buy land for his family and create our home. Dale started a logging business that he loved for many
years. He employed many families and friends for over 20 years. While owning the logging business he also had a Husqvarna business. After the logging business he drove tractor trailer over the road for a few years. His last employment was with the
NYS DEC in Brasher Falls before retiring.
Dale’s favorite interests included spending time with his family, being outdoors, driving on back roads, coon hunting, deer hunting, fishing, his cats (Priss/Carmella) and watching NASCAR.
Dale was predeceased by his wife Janet Marie LaShomb and his parents, brothers Gordon Deshane, Donald Deshane, Randall Deshane, and Steven Deshane.
He is survived by his sisters, Patricia (Theresa) Gray and Marlene (Danny) White; 3 sister in laws, Doris Deshane, Penny Deshane and Peggy Deshane and brother-in-law Gary LaShomb; two daughters, Kay Lynn (Keith) Mossow Massena, NY and Karen Lee (Chris) Fukes from Glenfield, NY; four grandchildren, Kristie Mossow, Florida, Kirk
(Candice) Mossow, Massena, NY Kandis (Brooke) Mossow Manlius, NY and Cameron Fukes of Liverpool, NY; great grandchildren Nakrie Jones, Adrian Jones, Coral Thomas, Carley Mossow, Neal Mossow and Chandler Mossow.
To honor Dale’s wishes there will be no public memorial service.
Memorial contributions may be acknowledged to the Cancer organization or Hospice in your local area or planting a tree in his memory.
