Strong high pressure cresting over Ontario and Quebec today and through the weekend will provide fall like conditions with crisp days and chilly nights in the St. Lawrence Valley, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Forecasters expect sunny skies today with highs near 74. Tonight will be colder than what we have experienced this summer, with lows around 46, the service says.
Saturday will not hit 70s degrees most likely, with a peak temp of 63 expected by NWS officials.
Saturday night will drop to around 40, NWS says.
Sunday will be a bit warmer with a high near 67, forecasters say, with an low Sunday night around 49.
Temps should be back into the mid-70s to low 80s by mid-week in the North Country, the service said.

Sunny, with a high near 63. Northeast wind around 9 mph.

Clear, with a low around 40. Light northeast wind.
Sunday
Sunny, with a high near 67. Northeast wind 3 to 8 mph.

A 50 percent chance of rain after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Southeast wind around 6 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Monday
Rain, mainly after 8am. High near 65. Southeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
