POTSDAM -- A Crane School of Music professor and two SUNY Potsdam students performed at the recent College Guitar Ensemble Showcase at the symposium, which was hosted by the New York City Classical Guitar Society.
Professor of classical guitar Douglas Rubio's Crane graduate student Benjamin Rybolt and undergraduate Brendon Grabowski performed as a duo. They presented two movements by 19th century composer Napoleon Coste.
Rubio was a judge for the auditions competition, which selected soloists for an evening concert featuring the GFA Regional Symposium Guitar Orchestra, alongside the New York City Guitar Orchestra.
The Guitar Foundation of America is the leading professional classical guitar organization in North America, according to SUNY Potsdam.
