OGDENSBURG – The St. Lawrence County Republican Committee hosts a candidates’ meet and greet starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 at the Freight House Restaurant, 20 Market St.
The committee will honor William Demo and Edwin Marsh with the Betsy Kaplan Award, bestowed in recognition of long and faithful service to the Republican Party, in memory of late Chairwoman Betsy Kaplan.
Marsh, long the Town of Stockholm Republican Committee chair, serves on the town board. He is noted for finding Republican candidates for town office and has carried petitions in behalf of candidates.
Brasher Town Councilman William Demo, known among party members as “Mr. Raffle Ticket” for his fundraising efforts, is a member of the party’s executive committee.
County Chairwoman Nancy Martin invites everyone to join them and meet the candidates.
Admission is $20. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
