POTSDAM – Got the “Honky Tonk Blues”? One sure way to cure them is by attending the sixth annual Hankfest, a daylong celebration of the music of country legend Hank Williams Sr., on Saturday, Aug. 13 running from noon to 6:30 p.m. in Ives Park.

This year, tribute will also be paid to another legendary country singer, Patsy Cline, with Colleen Oshier dedicating an hour to her music from 5 to 6 p.m. And don't be surprised to see the man of steel himself, Superman, making the rounds at the park.

The festival is also a charity event – this year, to benefit the Helpings Hands of Potsdam and the Boys and Girls Club of Ogdensburg.

In addition to the great lineup of musical acts, concertgoers will be treated to an antique car show, door prizes, raffles, kids’ games (sponsored by Kiwanis of Potsdam), vendors, and Scoopuccinos and Stewart’s ice cream.

The music lineup for this year’s Hankfest:

Noon, Oshier Country

1 p.m., John Wolf

1:30 p.m., Spokesmen for Charity

2 p.m., Classic Country

3 p.m., Acoustic Brothers

4 p.m., Beer Before Noon

5 p.m., Patsy Cline Tribute

If anyone would like to be a vendor at Hankfest, the cost is $10, all of which is donated to charity. For more information, see the Potsdam Charity Hankfest Group site on Facebook. Contributions can also be sent to 18 Debra Drive, Apt. 201, Potsdam, NY 13676-1916.
