OGDENSBURG -- The corrections officers union at Riverview Correctional Facility recently made a $300 donation to the Wishbook for residents in the Claxton Neighborhood at United Helpers RiverLedge Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.
The donation was used to purchase a large, flat screen TV for the neighborhood’s dining room.
Cindi Corbine, a LPN who works on the floor said the new television has allowed the neighborhood to come together for movie nights and other events.
The donation was celebrated during a recent pizza party paid for by cans and bottles collected by staff on the floor.
Mrs. Corbine also said that going forward, money collected from bottles and cans will be used to pay for a Netflix subscription for Claxton residents.
