POTSDAM -- Composting Made Simple for Yard & Food Waste is a hands-on community education workshop organized by the Local Living Venture on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 3-5 p.m. at the home of presenter Janet Lomastro.
Lomastro will share the simple science of compost she has perfected over 20 years so attendees leave with a very clear understanding of how to run the simplest, high-performing compost pile with the least amount of effort involved.
A tour of Ms. Lomastro's impressive perennial garden landscape is included, showing the uses of nutrient-rich compost for edibles, ornamental plants and traditional medicinal herbs in the home garden.
Attendance costs a donation of $22, $40 per couple, $12 student; a reduced rate or scholarships available upon request.
To register, contact 315-347-4223 or LocalLivingVenture@gmail.com with an email and phone number for workshop details and the exact location.
