POTSDAM -- A new company will offer private flights to any destination in the lower 48 United States out of Ogdensburg, Massena, Potsdam and other North Country airports.
Go Aviation officials say they have completed the certification process to get approval from the Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration to offer on-demand charter flights.
“Each flight is conducted on the client’s schedule, and can include any of the over 5,000 airports in the United States as a destination,” Go Aviation said in a news release. “Private flights are able to access the many small airports that airlines do not service. Private flights are not subject to TSA searches, simply drive your car up to the aircraft and board your flight.”
The company can fly from Potsdam to New York City in 1 hour and 10 minutes, to Albany in 30 minutes and to Nantucket, Mass. in 1 hour and 25 minutes.
The company’s president and chief pilot, Michael Klein, is a Clarkson grad and lives in Potsdam.
The company worked with Clarkson’s business incubator to get up and running.
