CANTON -- Community Bank’s subsidiary CBNA Insurance Agency has bought Clark Insurance Agencies.
The purchase of the agency, which they bought from William M. Lemieux, was completed Jan. 1, Community Bank said.
“While it was an extremely hard decision to sell Clark Insurance Agencies, my retirement was imminent and the decision was made easier knowing that CBNA Insurance would provide personalized and professional services to the customers I have been so loyal to over the years,” Lemieux said.
CBNA Insurance Agency will serve Clark Insurance Agencies customers from the existing Canton office at 71 Main St.
“Lemieux has also agreed to stay on for some time to make the transition as smooth as possible. Diane Hazelton will also join the Canton staff as branch manager,” Community Bank said in a prepared statement.
“I am delighted to welcome Bill's customers to CBNA Insurance Agency, as we have deep roots in the community,” CBNA Insurance Agency CEO Mark Moeller said. “The Village of Canton is the birthplace of Community Bank N.A., having first opened in 1866 as St. Lawrence National Bank.”
CBNA Insurance Agency has offices in Heuvelton, Harrisville, Canton, Tupper Lake, Plattsburgh and Malone. They sell auto, home and business insurance products.
