COLTON — Participants in the second race of the Higley Trail Series were undeterred by a lack of snow with trails alternating between bare ground and ice.
Donning traction devices they took to the 4.1 mile course designed by snowshoe racing veteran Wayne Ratowski, which provided plenty of challenges for the runners.
The top four adult finishers pictured above from left were Eileen Visser (over 40, women), John Beaudette (over 40 men), Dwight Stevenson (under 40 men), and Tasha Akins (under 40 women). Pictured in front are George Chapman (5 years) first participation in a trail walk.
The next race/walk will be held Sunday, Feb. 12 at Higley Flow State Park. Register at 10 a.m. The race begins at 11 a.m.
