COLTON -- Vicki Conklin, Colton, was among a number of St. Lawrence County residents who attended rally in Albany where opponents of the SAFE act gathered to show their displeasure with lawmakers Thursday.
Conklin is shown above with a poster she toook to the rally featuring her puppy "Neva."
According to reports, the event drew many North Country gun owners who said the SAFE act violates second amendment rights.
St. Lawrence County Legislators recently passed a resolution opposing the act, as did severl St. Lawrence County municipalities.
North Country senators Joseph Griffo R-Rome and Patty Ritchie R-Heuvelton and recently elected assemblyman Marc Butler R-Newport voted against the act, while assemblywoman Addie J. Russell D-Thresea supported the law.
