Veterans, an old schoolhouse, a fire department and two municipal governments are among entities in the Clifton-Fine area that will get support from $10,000 in grants from the Clifton-Fine Community Fund, according to the Northern New York Community Foundation.
A Cranberry Lake community pavilion project will get $4,000.
The Wilderness Healthcare Foundation of Clifton-Fine Hospital is getting $2,000 to provide healthcare assistance to military veterans.
The Cranberry Lake Fire and Rescue Department will get $1,000 to buy two new firefighting suits.
The towns of Clifton and Fine will split $1,100. It will pay for streetscape upgrades and pedestrian and vehicle safety enhancements.
Save Our Schoolhouse will receive $1,000 to buy a propane furnace for heating in the winter. The group is working to save a schoolhouse in Star Lake that was built in 1882. It has since been renamed the Adirondack Exhibit Center.
The Clifton-Fine Lions Club will get $300 to launch a pilot program to clean up blighted properties.
