WADDINGTON -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center for the second time will host their Dragon Boat Challenge July 16 at 8:30 a.m. at Waddington Beach.
[img_assist|nid=175656|title=|desc=|link=url|url=http://northcountrynow.com/submitting-photo|align=right|width=180|height=149]Twenty-four teams of 20 paddlers, one drummer and three alternates each will paddle large boats to see who can get the fastest time.
There is a new youth division this year for ages 14 to 17.
The event is rain or shine.
Entry fee is $1,000 for corporate teams, $800 for non-profits and community groups and $600 for youth teams.
Proceeds go to Northern New York Community Foundation and Children's Miracle Network of NNY.
