Junior Jerry Coleman (Potsdam, NY) and sophomore Katie VanDeValk (Baldwinsville, NY) each had outstanding opening weeks in Florida for the Clarkson University Baseball and Women's Lacrosse teams, respectively, as both earned Liberty League Weekly honors on Monday.
Coleman, who gained Liberty League Co-Performer of the Week honors for the second straight seven-day stretch, batted .500 with six runs scored and four runs batted in over the course of four games, pushing his season numbers to .560/.686/.720 through eight contests. He leads the team with 14 hits and has also been pitched around with nine walks.
VanDeValk, who earned Liberty League Co-Offensive Performer of the Week honors on Monday, scored eight goals in a 19-10 victory over Kean University last Monday.
