Senior outside hitter Sara Artus (St. Regis Falls, NY) got off to a slow start, by her standards, in 2011, but the Clarkson University Volleyball standout had a big weekend at the Hawks Invitational and was awarded with a Liberty League Performer of the Week honor on Monday.
Artus averaged 4.29 kills per set, totalling 60 over the course of four matches for the Golden Knights in a 4-0 weekend. She also contributed 34 digs and six blocks during the Hawks Invitational, the third straight tournament that Clarkson has won. On the season, Artus has recorded 144 kills (3.35 per set), 106 digs, 18 aces, and 17 blocks for the 13-0 Golden Knights. She is just 52 kills shy of setting the Clarkson record for career kills, currently held by Heather Sill, who graduated in 2004.
