POTSDAM -- Clarkson University is telling students on their way to Potsdam to avoid the Back Hannawa Road, County Rt. 59, because of reported construction.
Clarkson spokesman Michael Griffin says the university’s security office has been told that the road, which runs east of the Raquette River from Hannawa Falls to Potsdam, would be closed today, Thursday and possibly Monday for construction from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They said a detour sign in Hannawa Falls would direct drivers along State Route 56.
The Back Hannawa Road becomes Clarkson Avenue in the village as it runs along the eastern edge of the Hill Campus.
The county Department of Highways has not yet confirmed the closure.
