POTSDAM — Teams from Clarkson University performed well at the first Technology Showcase and Competition held earlier this month at the Turning Stone Casino and Resort, the college announced.
The event was held to highlight some of the commercialization projects created by Clarkson faculty and alumni.
Eleven companies, comprising seven faculty teams and four teams of recent alumni, won a total of $92,500 for the competition, the university said.
These companies hold 20 patents on various technologies and cover a broad spectrum of industries including renewable energy, sustainable construction materials, air and water quality, medical devices, innovative personal protective equipment, and performance nutrition.
The winning companies and the amounts won are:
KLAW Industries - $20,000
REMWell - $15,000
Ducted Wind Turbines - $10,000
Energy Catalyst - $10,000
ResET Water - $7,500
Enduraphin - $5,000
TelosAir Corp - $5,000
Workers First - $5,000
SensoLife - $5,000
Pharmacoustics Technologies - $5,000
DMAX Plasma - $5,000
