POTSDAM -- A Clarkson University student was jailed Tuesday night for allegedly assaulting a security officer at Clarkson, according to Potsdam police.
James J. Maguire, 19, Middletown, RI was charged with second-degree assault, officers said.
Police said they responded to the university following the reported assault and located Maguire a short time later and place him under arrest.
He was sent to St. Lawrence County jail on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond, officers said.
Police said further charges are pending.
