Clarkson University will receive National Science Foundation funding for a project that seeks to investigate the social acceptability of robotic assistants amongst human workers in manufacturing and warehousing.
Congresswoman Elise Stefanik's Office announced the $149,999 grant.
The National Science Foundation supports research, innovation, and discovery that provides the foundation for economic growth in this country, her office said.
“I am excited to announce this significant funding for Clarkson University to support their cutting-edge research,” Stefanik said in a prepared statement. “Taxpayer dollars will be utilized to support these students and faculty with their scientific efforts. I look forward to witnessing the impact of this funding and this research on our North Country communities, and I will continue to advocate for programs like these that provide direct funding to our higher education institutions.”
