Delhi, NY – Valerie Clark combined to post six hits and drove in six runs and Nicole Woodward won twice as the softball team swept host SUNY Delhi in a pair of run-rule contests 12-2 and 12-0 on Sunday afternoon.
With the wins SUNY Canton improves to 7-7, while the Broncos drop to 0-23.
Game 1
The Roos posted 12 runs on 16 hits with five r uns each in the first and fifth innings in the five inning run-rule victory in the opener.
Desiree Pryce, Valerie Clark and Courtney Hyland all finished with three hits each and combine dto drive in nine runs. Raechel Yost and Jaedyn Ossont also had multi-hit outings with Ossont scoring a team-best three times.
Nicole Woodward earned the win giving up one earned run with a strike out in the complete game.
Game 2
Clark once again led the Roos with three hits and 3 RBI in the second game and Hyland, Stefanie Miller, Alicia Evans and Brittany Staltare all had two hits with Evans driving in three runs. Miller and Pryce also recorded a pair of RBI each and Hyland finished with a triple.
Woodward tossed a complete game shutout with one strike out in her second win of the day and fourth of the weekend.
The softball team will host Houghton College on Tuesday for a doubleheader in its home opener at 3:30 p.m.
