CANTON -- The next Civil War roundtable will be Sunday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association, Silas Wright House, 3 E. Main St.
Participants are encouraged to bring Civil War stories and artifacts to share.
The highlight of the roundtable will be a slide presentation of the officers of the 60th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment by Stan Maine.
Maine is in the process of identifying the officers in a photo taken during the war, and will share what he has discovered.
The roundtable is part of the association’s commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, which was fought from 1861-1865. Around 7,000 men from St. Lawrence County enlisted to fight for the Union during the Civil War, even though Confederate forces never threatened the area.
