WADDINGTON – The Waddington Concert Series 2019 opening show of the season presents The Chipman Jazz All-Stars Friday, June 21, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the pavilion, Island View Park overlooking the beautiful St. Lawrence River.
The concert will be held rain or shine.
The Chipman Jazz All-Stars grew out of an annual jam session in Chipman, N.Y.
The group performs regularly around St. Lawrence County, and is comprised of Tom Baker on vocals and guitar, Steve Manders on drums, Ted Ritzko on tenor and alto saxes, Steve LeMere on flugelhorn, George Cox on bass, and Josh Barkley on keyboards.
The All-Stars play jazz from the 30s, 40s, and even the 50s for their younger fans.
The music celebrates the popular jazz exemplified by “Fats” Waller and Louis Armstrong and The Ballads of the American Songbook.
The concert is sponsored by Artwork's Creperie and MX Fuels, and admission is free. Donations are welcome.
