CHASE MILLS - A Chase Mills man is facing an assault charge following a domestic dispute Thursday in the Town of Louisville, reported New York State police.
Dewey I. LaValley, 69, was charged with third-degree assault causing physical injury.
According to state police, around 2:45 p.m. they responded to Massena Hospital to interview a victim regarding a physical domestic dispute that occurred on County Route 36, in the town of Louisville. An investigation determined the altercation took place Dec. 5, when LaValley and the victim were involved in a verbal argument which turned physical when LaValley struck the victim in the face.
The victim waited to report the incident due to being scared, said police.
The victim was still suffering pain on Dec. 29 from being struck in the face. The victim suffered a perforated eardrum and a sprained temporomandibular joint. The victim was treated and released from the hospital, according to police.
LaValley was arraigned in the Town of Massena Court and released on his own recognizance.
