MASSENA – Certified Physician Assistant Chelsea Yager has joined St. Lawrence Health’s Neurology team. Her office is currently located in Massena Hospital’s Medical Office Building at 181 Maple Street in Massena, and she will be expanding her services in the coming weeks to include Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s St. Lawrence Health Medical Campus at 6119 US Route 11 in Canton.

Yager is Certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. She earned her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies through Clarkson University, Potsdam; and her Master of Science degree in Nutrition Science from Syracuse University, Syracuse.

Yager comes to St. Lawrence Health as an experienced Neurological Physician Assistant, and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

“I have experience practicing medicine in diverse areas of the state, including the Greater New York City Metro area, and am excited to bring that experience to both Massena and Canton-Potsdam hospitals,” Yager said.

“As a graduate of the Clarkson University PA program, I was able to observe a true sense of the community atmosphere of the North Country during my training. I have deep family roots to the St. Lawrence Seaway and the region feels like coming home,” she added. “I grew up in a small town in Central New York and am looking forward to living in a place that shares those same community values and love of the outdoors.”

As Certified Physician Assistant specializing within Neurology, Yager has experience with implementing and coordinating diagnostic and therapeutic care for chronic neurological conditions, and interpreting and assessing imaging modalities of the brain and spine. She further treats stroke patients, and those with general neurologic conditions including epilepsy, cognitive impairment, headache disorders, spinal cord injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, chronic pain conditions, and post-cardiac arrest care.
