MADRID -- An investigation into a January accident that injured one person led to multiple charges for a Canton man, according to Massena-based state police.
John K. French, 44, was charged at 3:01 p.m. Monday with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle for driving on a suspended license, failure to keep right on a two-lane road, imprudent speed and driving while intoxicated.
Troopers said it was French's first DWI.
The accident occurred at 8:19 p.m. Jan. 21 on County Route 31 near County Route 14 in the Town of Madrid.
Details on the injured party were not reported by troopers.
