CRANBERRY LAKE -- A Canton-Gouverneur duo took first place in the Northern NY Bassmasters Team Trail competition on Cranberry Lake on Aug. 26.
First place was Tyler Capella of Canton and Jesse Spellicy of Gouverneur with 19.44 lbs.
Second place was James Moore of Gouverneur and Doug Kirkbride of Beaver River with 15.87 lbs.
Third place was Eric Tessmer and Ed Moore, both of Gouverneur, with 15.31 lbs.
Four place was Corey Palmer of Ogdensburg and John Narrow of Canton with 14.19 lbs.
Chad Sharpe and Gary McIntyre of Gouverneur won the lunker prize with a 6.05 lbs. bass.
The NNY Bassmasters will finish their regular season on the St. Lawrence River on Sept. 9 at the Ogdensburg Patterson Street ramp. Weigh-in begins at 3 p.m.
The team championship will be Sept. 23 and 24. Day one will be at the Waddington town launch on the St. Lawrence River and Day two at the state launch at Black Lake.
