CANTON -- A Canton eye doctor is retiring after 40 years and closing his practice.
“After careful thought and consideration, Dr. Robert N Saidel O.D. has decided to retire and close his practices permanently after 41 years of service,” according to a post on Canton Optical’s Facebook page.
The post says the Canton office will be open (after Memorial Day) on Tuesday’s and Fridays from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. through June 29. The Gouverneur office will be open on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. through June 24.
There will be curbside service only during these times for: Prescription requests, contact lens pick-up and adjustments.
The office is asking people to call ahead for copies of medical records and prescriptions to go.
The Canton office number is 315-379-0939. The Gouverneur office number is 315-287-1344.
“Thank you for all your support over the years,” the post said.
