CANTON — The search for a new Canton Central School superintendent is underway.
Ron Burke was named new Superintendent of Schools for Massena Central School and will begin in that role on Aug. 1
The Canton Central Board of Education is planning for the selection of a new superintendent of schools and has reached out to Thomas Burns, BOCES District Superintendent, according to Canton Board of Education President Victor Rycroft.
Burns has conducted over 30 superintendent searches and will be joining the board in mid-June to discuss both the superintendent search process as well as the current landscape for superintendent candidates, Rycroft said.
“The school district will also work towards securing an experienced interim superintendent who can guide the school district into the new school year and effectively manage district operations until a new, permanent superintendent can be appointed,” he said.
In the near future, a timeline for this process will be developed, Rycroft said.
