Staff and faculty at Canton Central School ‘Go Red for Women’ to raise money to fight heart disease.
CANTON -- The Canton National Honor Society recently held a raffle to benefit the “Go Red for Women” campaign of the American Heart Association.
The Go Red for Women campaign seeks to raise funds for research and education on the number one cause of death among women today, cardiovascular disease. According to organizers, 80 percent of the these heart attacks and strokes could be prevented with education and lifestyle changes and 90 percent of women have at least one risk factor for heart disease.
Members of the Canton National Honor Society include Katelyn Young, Johanna Shea, Rachel Moses, Maddy Shea, Anna Monroe, Kiersten Larrabee, Lucy Jenkins, Lilly Clifford, Maria Ricalton, and Mary-Kait Mace, Lance Pier, Macy Huntley, Jen Wilcox, Audrey Thompson, Jana Prudhomme, Kathryn Fanning, Maria Sergi, Luke Frazer, Luke Gallup, Brandon Calton, Aida Shipley, and Sami Curtis, Cody Moore, Wes Bortnick, Morgan Rosser, Brandon Van Brocklin, Molly McMasters, Morgan Fisher, Katie Clemmer, and Zach Barnes.
