To the Editor:
I live in Norfolk with my husband and young daughter.
I am frustrated with the path our county has been taking, and would like to see the board of legislators governed by people who make their decisions based on good business and common sense, not politics.
The county is a large business but is not being run as such. We need someone in office who is willing to educate themselves on the issues being introduced and put politics aside and make the best decision for our county and its residents.
John Burke has years of experience in management. He also sat on the committee to save the Ogdensburg Psychiatric Center. John believes we need to maintain this essential service and others such as community services and police protection. He will base his decisions on the health and well being of the community.
The financial well being of our county will also be in the forefront of his decision-making. The overspending of the last several years needs to stop. I would like for my daughter to have a future here in St. Lawrence County if she chooses.
I believe that with well educated and dedicated legislators such as John Burke our county could be put on a path that would ensure opportunities for our children right here at home.
To quote Albert Einstein “if you always do what you’ve always done you’ll always get what you’ve always got”.
If you are tired of the way our county is being run and think it is time for a positive change vote John Burke for County Legislator in District 12.
