The St. Lawrence men's tennis team dropped the first of two dual matches this weekend to Ithaca, 6-3, in the Newell Field House on Saturday evening. The Saints are now 1-1 in dual matches this season, while the Bombers improve to 2-0.
The Saints trailed 2-1 after doubles, with Rhonny Rosario and Spencer Whitmire teaming for an 8-4 win at No. 3.
In singles, senior Paul Barrett posted a three set come-from-behind win at No. 4, while Kevin Frommer clinched a straight set win at No. 5, 7-5, 6-4. Both Dean Sponholz (No. 1) and Marco Amendola (No. 6) won the second sets of their respective matches to force a decisive third, but ultimately fell to their Ithaca opponents.
