POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam men’s lacrosse player Mike Quinlan has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference’s Goalie of the Week for the week ending March 19.
In his first start of the year, Quinlan made 12 saves to guide the Bears to a home-opening 13-10 victory over Hartwick College on Saturday. Quinlan was strong all game, but especially so in the closing minutes as he made three saves to clinch Potsdam’s first win over Hartwick in 22 years. The senior also made three saves in the final 20 minutes of Potsdam’s season opener against Mt. St. Joseph on March 13, in Orlando. Quinlan is 1-0 with an 11.25 goals-against-average and a .500 save percentage this season.
The Bears (1-1) are back in action this Wednesday, March 21, when they travel to Morrisville for a 4 p.m. showdown with the Mustangs.
