Azure Mountain Friends, a non-profit organization that provides volunteer summit stewards at the restored fire tower on Azure Mountain, near St. Regis Falls, recognizes four winners of $750 scholarships for summer 2025.
Recipients, who must be college-bound high school seniors, earn their scholarships by serving as stewards on five different days between Memorial Day and Indigenous Peoples / Columbus Day.
They are Macomb Richards, from Norwood-Norfolk High School, who will be attending Clarkson University.
Meridyth Clark, from Colton-Pierrepont; she will enroll in the pre-veterinary track at the University of Rhode Island.
Kamryn Palmer, from Parishville-Hopkinton, who has chosen Paul Smith's College. Ms. Palmer has been named the Allen Tower Steward, in honor of Allen Tower Jr., president and CEO of NuMed Inc. in Hopkinton, whose generous financial support makes possible her scholarship.
Also, returning for her second year as an Azure Mountain summit steward is Zoe McLean, of Colton, who is a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
