CANTON -- Mohammed Aktaruzzaman, MD, FACAAI, has joined Canton-Potsdam Hospital as the area’s first allergy and immunology specialist.
The specialist, who prefers patients call him Dr. Zaman, will begin treating patients in the E. J. Noble Professional Building, 80 E. Main St. March 18.
Dr. Zaman joins CPH from an allergy and immunology group practice in Missouri. Prior to that he was in private practice in Raleigh, NC, and Vero Beach, Fla.
Dr. Zaman received his medical degree in Bangladesh, after which he treated patients in rural areas of the country, serving as medical officer in a rural medical complex.
He completed a residency and fellowship training in pathology and immunopathology at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at Mt. Sinai Medical Center/Case Western Reserve in Ohio, followed by a fellowship in allergy/immunology at East Carolina University Medical School in Greenville, NC.
Dr. Zaman is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
