Complaining about how the village of Potsdam looks? I hear neighbors complain about the college kids ruining our town. Anyone remember Potsdam in the 1980s? No comparison, but look at the rental properties they are living in. Slumlords are neglecting beautiful old homes, letting the paint peel and wood rot and that is precisely what really gives a first impression to visitors. Imagine what the inside looks like. I do not like government interference, but applaud the village’s decision to finally enforce codes. I hope these codes are enforced, and these properties are finally taken care of before we have to look at a photo in a museum to appreciate our local architecture. Toilets with flowers are the least of our concerns.
