NORWOOD -- This year’s Norwood Beach Triathlon, with a swim, a bike and a run, starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Norwood Beach Recreation Park on Lake Shore Drive.
The event will consist of a quarter-mile open water swim, 15-mile bike and four-mile run. Participants can choose to do the entire race as an individual or as part of a two- or three-member team.
All proceeds from this year’s race will go to two local organizations, the John C. Purvis Scholarship Fund and Hospice of St. Lawrence County.
The cost to register is $30 for an individual and $45 for teams if postmarked prior to Aug. 1. After that and on race day, the fees are $35 individual and $55 per team.
T-shirts will be given to all pre-registered athletes, and to all other as supplies last.
To register, send a check made out to Norwood Triathlon to Chris & Teresa Stone, 362 Outer Main Street, Potsdam, NY 13676, along with your name, address, phone number, email address, team name if any, and T-shirt size (S, M, L, XL, XXL).
