BRUSHTON — The Americans Supporting Armed Services annual golf tournament will be held at Highland Greens Golf Club, in Brushton, on June 15.
Special guest speaker for this event will be Staff Sergeant Will Castillo.
Castillo served ten years and 2 tours of duty in Iraq. Enduring a direct hit with an IED and losing comrades Kirkpatrick and Tamez, Castillo was the sole survivor of Madog5.
Castillo wishes to educate the public about Wounded Veteran Communities and empower wounded veterans to become community leaders.
Castillo currently trains to represent the United States in Para Olympic Bobsledding and is captain of Team USA PARA Bobsled.
He has won 3 national titles, 3 gold medals, and 2 bronze.
In season 2022-2023 SSG Castillo won Overall World Cup and was ranked #1 in the world. This was the first time USA Para Bobsled placed #1 in the world.

In addition ASAS is partnering with the American Legion Post 939 in Brushton, on Flag Day, June 14, 2024 for a spaghetti dinner and meet & greet with SSG Castillo.
