POTSDAM -- Several students were recently chosen as students of the block for the first block of the school year at A. A. Kingston Middle School.
Students of the block included Jonah Trejos, band/orchestra; Halle Varney, sixth grade; Nick Yang, sixth grade; Julia VanWagner, fifth grade; Lola Buckley, fifth grade; and Owen Miller, physical education.
Also, Johzi Fair-Schulz, art; Katherine Yu, chorus; Kaylee Green, seventh grade; Ashwin Hillenbrand, seventh grade; Emma Rutley, eigth grade; and Alton Isaman, eighth grade.
Mark Bennett, AAK Middle School principal, presented the awards.
Students are selected on the basis of scholastic achievement, citizenship, and extra curricular activities, according to a press release.
“Outstanding effort and attitude are highly valued as well,” the release said.
