POTSDAM -- Stewart's Shoppes and the Dake Family recently awarded the North Country Children’s Museum $25,000 to fund their Construction Zone Exhibit as part of the museum’s new facility at 10 Raymond St.
The museum building is expected to open in 2018.
In the new exhibit, children will problem-solve and learn to work as a team by exploring different aspects of construction and structural design through interactive play. A skyscraper backdrop will feature the photos and bios of Mohawk construction workers who helped to build the skyscrapers and bridges in New York City and Montreal.
Within the exhibit, visitors can build and construct large-scale environments and role play, while engaging in open‐ended wall and bridge building activities.
Various materials, at different scales, will provide opportunities to explore the design and engineering process as well as building and construction elements.
