POTSDAM – Armed with a search warrant, police yesterday seized $11,000 in cash, roughly two pounds of marihuana, hashish, scales, packaging equipment, a police scanner, smoking devices, and other items associated with the trafficking and distribution of narcotics in the arrest of a Clarkson University student at his fraternity house.
Shawn E. Innes, 22, of Bainbridge, has been charged with third-degree criminal sale of marijuana, second-degree criminal possession of marihuana: more than one pound, and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The Potsdam Police Department and the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force executed the search warrant at Delta Tau Tau, a fraternity at 74 Elm Street, in the culmination of a joint investigation into marijuana sales in the Potsdam area.
Innes was arraigned before Potsdam Village Justice Pignone. There is as yet no word on bail.
Police said the investigation continues and more charges are pending.
Drug Task Force members from the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Canton Police Department, Gouverneur Police Department, and SUNY Potsdam University Police assisted with the investigation.
