The St. Lawrence University women's crew team, ranked tenth in the nation, competed in the Liberty League Championships on Saturday in Saratoga Springs, NY. The Saints 1V and 2V both earned second place finishes, beating out RIT and Skidmore but falling to No. 3 William Smith.
The 1V of Tori Vossler, Jenette Kloss, Jesse Burdett, Maddy Fones, Maggie Fellows, Sally Dankner, Britton Weber, Alissa McCaffrey and Bri Tidd negotiated the 2000 meter course in 7.34.69, with the Herons finishing first in 7:22.00. The Tigers and the Dutchwomen rounded out the competition, finishing in 7:45.6 and 7:56.76, respectively.
In the 2V event, Amy Yao, Kat Lukens, Amanda Brewer, Daniela Stokes, Liz Weber, Jeannine Condon, Abbie McIvor, Megan McGregor and Helen Aufderheide crossed the finish line in 7:55.22, ahead of the Tigers (8:08.81) and the Dutchwomen (8:25.00) but second to the Herons (7:32.50).
St. Lawrence will be back in action on May 5-6 when the Saints compete in the New York State Championships in Whitney Point.
