I just wonder why the Village folks would think that “gallons” of water are being lost on the college campuses (Watertown Times, Sept. 23, “Potsdam May Move Water Meters on College Campuses in Hopes of Savings Thousands”). If there is a water main leak or break in the Village there is water all over, and coming out of the ground. The Village digs up the line and repairs it. Do they think that just because the water line leak could be on a college campus that it would not react the same, and show up on the surface, making a huge mess? Maybe it is educated water and just disappears? Certainly not worth the cost of all those meters or a platform for re-election.
