I was reading the article about the high costs of holding elections (“Elections To Cost Nearly $100,000,” Nov. 2-8). They are way more expensive than the cost of library funding, mental health services, chemical dependency treatment, dental programs for poor children, transportation for handicapped children, aid for the elderly and other proposed budget cuts. I guess certain county legislators will propose eliminating elections. But just, you know, as a cost saving measure for overburdened taxpayers.
