STOCKHOLM -- A Winthrop man was charged Thursday after fleeing the scene of a personal-injury accident involving an Amish horse-drawn buggy, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.
Wayne S. Arquiett, 56, was charged with leaving the scene of a property-damage accident after allegedly striking the buggy with his vehicle on CR 49 and then fleeing the scene.
Deputies said two people were ejected from the buggy and were injured.
Arquiett failed to stop and was located a short time later at a family camp behind his home, officers said.
He was cited and released.
